All our spreadsheets are designed for Google Sheets, which is an online platform. Since we can’t provide a direct file download, you’ll receive a PDF instead. This PDF contains a link to access your spreadsheet.

Yes! You can use this spreadsheet for as many months or years as you’d like. Simply duplicate the month tab (instructions can be found in the Tips & Tricks section) and update the month and year in the top left corner of the Budget tab.

At this time, we don’t accept customization requests. However, you’re free to edit and modify the spreadsheet to fit your needs! We’ve added warnings to prevent accidental changes to formulas that could affect its functionality. However, the spreadsheet is not locked, so you can make any changes as you see fit!

Technical Support

Make sure to open the file using Adobe Acrobat Reader (free version). If you use a different program (such as Preview on Apple devices), the link may not work properly.

When you click the link in the PDF, a page will open in your internet browser. In the top right corner, you’ll see a button that says “Use Template.” After clicking this button, a personal copy of the template, accessible only by you, should open within seconds.

Unfortunately, Google Sheets can sometimes be a bit glitchy. If the template doesn’t open, or if it opens in view-only mode, try the following:

  1. View-only mode: In the top toolbar, click “File” → “Make a copy.” This will create a copy of the template, giving you full access. If that doesn’t work, continue with the steps below.
  2. Open the template from a computer or laptop: We’ve noticed that sometimes, when opening the template for the first time from a phone, tablet, or similar device, it doesn’t open correctly. We recommend opening it from a computer or laptop.
  3. Make sure there’s enough space on your Google Drive: If your Google Drive is full or near full, you won’t be able to open the template (it will show as view-only). To check storage, visit drive.google.com, and you can see how much space is left on the left side of the menu.
  4. Try a different browser: If you’re still having trouble, make sure your browser is up to date. If it is and it’s still not working, try using a different browser.
  5. Ensure you’re logged into Google Sheets: The template won’t open if you’re not logged into your Google Sheets account, or if you’re trying to access it in an incognito window.

If you’ve tried all of the above steps and still have trouble, please reach out to us, and we’ll assist you further.

If the spreadsheet opens in View Only mode, try this first:

Click ‘File’ → ‘Make a copy’ in the top toolbar to create an editable version of the template.
If that doesn’t work, try these additional steps:

  • Open the spreadsheet on a computer instead of a phone.
  • Make sure you have enough space in your Google Drive.
  • Try using a different browser.
  • Ensure you’re logged into your Google account.

If you’re still having trouble after these steps, please reach out to us for further assistance!

Google Sheets is an online tool that saves your work automatically while you’re using it, as long as you’re connected to the internet. There’s no need to manually save your changes—they’ll be updated in real-time.

To access your spreadsheet in the future, simply go to sheets.google.com, where you’ll find an overview of all your spreadsheets. You can open and work on them whenever you need!

No worries! After your purchase, you can open the spreadsheet with any Google account, even if you’ve already accessed it with a different one.

To access it with the correct Google Account:

  1. Head to sheets.google.com
  2. Log in with the Google Account you’d like to use for the spreadsheet
  3. Open the PDF and click the link, then click “Use Template”
  4. Your template will now be linked to the correct Google Account!

If you’d like to access the spreadsheet with multiple Google Accounts (for example, to share your budget with a partner), follow these steps:

  1. In the top right corner of the spreadsheet, click the “Share” button.
  2. In the “Add people or groups” field, type in the email address of the person you want to share the spreadsheet with.
  3. Choose the type of access you want to give them.
  4. Click the “Send” button.

Now, both accounts will have access to the spreadsheet!

We protect all the formulas in our spreadsheets with warnings to help you use the spreadsheet worry-free. However, it’s possible that a change you made has altered the template’s function. No worries! Google Sheets lets you revert to a previous version, even if you closed your browser tab.

To go back to a working version of your spreadsheet:

  1. In the top toolbar, click “File”.
  2. Select “Version History”.
  3. Browse through different versions from previous days and restore the one that works as intended.

This should resolve any issues caused by changes.

If you accidentally delete your spreadsheet, you may be able to recover it from your Google Drive’s trash folder within 30 days. Simply go to the trash, find the file, and restore it. If it’s been longer than 30 days or you cannot find it, unfortunately, we are unable to recover deleted files.

Access & Compatibility

While an internet connection is typically required to edit your template, Google Sheets offers an offline mode that allows you to access and make edits without internet access.

To enable offline access:

  1. Open Google Sheets in your browser and ensure you’re signed into your Google account.
  2. Click the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.
  3. Select Settings, then toggle on Offline mode.
  4. Follow the prompts to set up offline access for your device.

Once offline mode is enabled, you can work on your template even when you’re not connected to the internet. Any changes made offline will automatically sync when you’re back online.

For more detailed instructions, visit the Google Docs Help Platform.

While we recommend opening the spreadsheet for the first time on a computer or laptop, there are no restrictions on accessing or editing your spreadsheet on other devices. If you’d like to access it on your tablet or phone, we highly recommend downloading the Google Sheets app for easier access and editing.

Our spreadsheets are designed specifically for Google Sheets and may not work correctly in Excel or any other program. Although Google Sheets and Excel are similar, they differ significantly in how formulas are handled. When exporting a spreadsheet to Excel, the formulas might not function properly, causing the spreadsheet to not work as intended. We strongly recommend using the spreadsheet directly in Google Sheets to ensure everything works as designed.
